Seven Personal Characteristics Of A Good Leader

How often have you heard the comment, "He or she is a born leader?" There are certain characteristics found in some people that seem to naturally put them in a position where they're looked up to as a leader.

Whether in fact a person is born a leader or develops skills and abilities to become a leader is open for debate. There are some clear characteristics that are found in good leaders. These qualities can be developed or may be naturally part of their personality. Let us explore them further.

SEVEN PERSONAL QUALITIES FOUND IN A GOOD LEADER

Seven Personal Characteristics Of A Good Leader

1. A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of utmost importance that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and integrity. A good leader "walks the talk" and in doing so earns the right to have responsibility for others. True authority is born from respect for the good character and trustworthiness of the person who leads.

2. A good leader is enthusiastic about their work or cause and also about their role as leader. People will respond more openly to a person of passion and dedication. Leaders need to be able to be a source of inspiration, and be a motivator towards the required action or cause. Although the responsibilities and roles of a leader may be different, the leader needs to be seen to be part of the team working towards the goal. This kind of leader will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty.

3. A good leader is confident. In order to lead and set direction a leader needs to appear confident as a person and in the leadership role. Such a person inspires confidence in others and draws out the trust and best efforts of the team to complete the task well. A leader who conveys confidence towards the proposed objective inspires the best effort from team members.

4. A leader also needs to function in an orderly and purposeful manner in situations of uncertainty. People look to the leader during times of uncertainty and unfamiliarity and find reassurance and security when the leader portrays confidence and a positive demeanor.

5. Good leaders are tolerant of ambiguity and remain calm, composed and steadfast to the main purpose. Storms, emotions, and crises come and go and a good leader takes these as part of the journey and keeps a cool head.

6. A good leader, as well as keeping the main goal in focus, is able to think analytically. Not only does a good leader view a situation as a whole, but is able to break it down into sub parts for closer inspection. While keeping the goal in view, a good leader can break it down into manageable steps and make progress towards it.

7. A good leader is committed to excellence. Second best does not lead to success. The good leader not only maintains high standards, but also is proactive in raising the bar in order to achieve excellence in all areas.

These seven personal characteristics are foundational to good leadership. Some characteristics may be more naturally present in the personality of a leader. However, each of these characteristics can also be developed and strengthened. A good leader whether they naturally possess these qualities or not, will be diligent to consistently develop and strengthen them in their leadership role.

The Secret Vision Board

Do you want to have a big house, big car, a lifestyle that you dream about?

Regardless of your current circumstances, all your dream can become real. What you need is to think and feel positively towards your dream.

Although this may sound easy, many people find it hard to visualize their dreams with vivid feelings.

The Secret Vision Board

To have positive energy vibration, you need to start by generating the feeling to make you feel as though you have already achieved your dreams. How can you go about generating such energy vibration?

This article aims to show you how you can generate and sustain positive energy by creating a vision board. Creating your vision board allows you to paint your dreams in advance.

Here are some key points you should use to create a effective vision board.

(1) Connect Your Feelings with The Pictures

Lets start off by getting a large sheet of white paper (6 feet by 6 feet. In Singapore, we call this
mahjong paper).

Next, you need some unwanted magazines. You are going to flip through these magazines and cut out the pictures which catch your attention. If you can't find the appropriate pictures, go to the internet to search for them and print them out with a color printer.

Next, go through these pictures which you have cut.

Ask yourself why do you choose them? How will you feel if you already have all these things in reality? Remember the positive feelings which you have.

(2) Keep Those Pictures Which Give You Positive Feelings

After Step 1, you may realize that you do not want some of the pictures you initially thought you want.
It is absolutely alright to feel in this way. You have just heightened your awareness level to what exactly will make you feel happy.

The key is you should only have the things you want on your vision board. There is no compromise on this. Even if you only end up having one picture, so be it.

A vision board, like your life is a self-discovering journey. Along the way, you may discover other
things you appreciate in your life. You can still cut out those pictures and stick them on your vision
board.

(3) Use Big Pictures

Use big pictures and big words to represent your dreams. You want to be able to see your vision easily.

(4) Do not Limit Your Imagination

In one of the interview report, Bob Proctor said that one common mistake people made was they often go after what they think they can achieve rather than what they really want.

Your task is to declare your true intention to the universe. Do not limit your imagination to what you
can ask for based on your perceived value of what you can achieve currently.

You do not need to know how to achieve your dreams. This is Universe's domain knowledge.
When your energy level and thoughts are in alignment, the universe will show you the way.

(5) Pin Your Vision Board At a Convenient Place

Once your vision board is ready, pin it up at a place where you can see it everyday.

Ideally, this place should be somewhere you will see first thing in the morning and last thing before you sleep.

See your vision board twice a day. Remind yourself of the feelings attached to the pictures you have cut out. Carry this feeling with you throughout the day and release it to the universe through your actions.

Now some of you may still doubt if this works. It absolutely does! How do i know? I did the same thing
and in just three weeks, I started to see my vision manifesting into reality.

So don't doubt the power of the secret vision board!

Difference Between Web 1.0, Web 2.0, & Web 3.0 - With Examples

Like any other technology, the web is evolving and it is evolving rather quickly. Due to lack of standards, there seems to be a little bewilderment regarding its evolution and versions but the most acceptable stages of evolution are as follows:

Web 1.0 Web 2.0 Web 3.0 (Also known as Semantic Web)

So, what is the difference between these versions?

Web 1.0: The Internet before 1999, experts call it Read-Only era. The average internet user's role was limited only to reading the information presented to him. The best examples are millions of static websites which mushroomed during the.com boom. There was no active communication or information flow from consumer of the information to producer of the information.

Difference Between Web 1.0, Web 2.0, & Web 3.0 - With Examples

Web 2.0: The lack of active interaction of common user with the web lead to the birth of Web 2.0. The year 1999 marked the beginning of a Read-Write-Publish era with notable contributions from LiveJournal (Launched in April, 1999) and Blogger (Launched in August, 1999). Now even a non-technical user can actively interact & contribute to the web using different blog platforms. This era empowered the common user with a few new concepts viz. Blog, Social-Media & Video-Streaming. Publishing your content is only a few clicks away! Few remarkable developments of Web 2.0 are Twitter, YouTube, eZineArticles, Flickr and Facebook.

Web 3.0: It seems we have everything whatever we had wished for in Web 2.0, but it is way behind when it comes to intelligence. Perhaps a six year old child has a better analytical abilities than the existing search technologies! Keyword based search of web 2.0 resulted in an information overload. The following attributes are going to be a part of Web 3.0:

contextual Search Tailor made Search Personalized Search Evolution of 3D Web Deductive Reasoning

Though Web is yet to see something which can be termed as fairly intelligent but the efforts to achieve this goal has already began. 2 weeks back the Official Google Blog mentioned about how Google search algorithm is now getting intelligent as it can identify many synonyms.

For example Pictures & Photos are now treated as similar in meaning. From now onwards your search query GM crop will not lead you to GM (General Motors) website. Why? Cause, first by synonym identification Google will understand that GM may mean General Motors or Genetically Modified. Then by context i.e. by the keyword crop it will deduce that the user wants information on genetically modified crops and not on General Motors. Similarly, GM car will not lead you to genetically modified crop. Try out yourself to check how this newly added artificial intelligence works in Google. Also, there are many websites built on Web 3.0 which personalizes your search. The web is indeed getting intelligent.

Sexy Panties - Why Men Love Them and Women Need Them

There's a difference between women's underwear and sexy panties. Underwear is functional. It is worn for sanitary purposes. Sexy panties are about femininity, self-expression, and style. Sexy panties are perhaps the only item of clothing that can influence the mood of both women and men.

While panties may have evolved over the years as the embodiment of female sexuality, they did not start out that way. Their original purpose was to cover-up and minimize a woman's feminine features.

The first "panties" were the brainchild of Elizabeth Miller, but Amelia Bloomer revised them during the 1850's. They were essentially long, baggy pants ending at the ankles (a.k.a. "bloomers"). In the late 18th century bloomers got two other nametags - knickers and knickerbockers.

Sexy Panties - Why Men Love Them and Women Need Them

When the roaring 20s arrived, signaling the end of World War I, young women began wearing shorter skirts for greater comfort while dancing. With all of the high leg kicking that was taking place, undergarments went from being a private article of clothing, to potentially being a public display of intimate fashion apparel.

As a result the first pastel panties were designed and the word "lingerie" first appeared in public. The term lingerie derives from the French word 'lin' which means linen. During the beginning of the 20th century it was still being called underwear and was worn mainly for hygienic purposes. It was at this time that bloomers began to shrink in size.

FREDERICK'S Of HOLLYWOOD

In the 1940s, Frederick's of Hollywood opened shop in Hollywood. They began turning out prettier undergarments, lingerie, and corsets. Many viewed these more fashionable undergarments as "hooker" attire. After all, why would a respectable woman need raunchy panties?

Thus, any pretty and/or fashionable garments worn under clothing were deemed as lingerie; which was associated with bad girls who did bad things...that men liked. Frederick's of Hollywood still carries this stigma today and as a result, has been overshadowed by Victoria's Secret as a more "respectable" undergarment retailer.

Colorful, bright, sexy, and flashier fashions of women's lingerie were becoming available. More fabrics such as cotton, satin, lace and silk began to be incorporated into the makeup of women's lingerie, making them more desired by females and more sensual to males.

SEXUAL REVOLUTION

This is perhaps the great turning point when panties became more than simple hygiene products and were viewed as a symbol for sexuality and eroticism worldwide.

During the 1960s, there was a stir about the old, traditional views of women's undergarments, which some people wanted to look more like females' anatomies. Female anatomy was largely misunderstood due to censorship of the subject. Some feminist women were complaining that traditional women's undergarments were created to impose control and distort the appearance of women's figures (which it originally did).

This movement caused many females to have a new outlook on their undergarments. The underpants began to be made more like women's anatomy, as designers experimented with different cuts and fabrics. The underpants got smaller and skinnier and began to be more openly sexualized.

Then the 70s and sexual liberation arrived. Inhibitions diminished and so did the tolerance for grandma panties (which is what bloomers were now called).

THONGS

While many credit Rudi Gernreich with introducing the first modern thong back in 1974 - in this country - it was actually the Egyptians, conceptually, who were one of the earliest people to wear them. The loincloth, worn thousands of years ago by them, is likely to be the first undergarment worn by humans and it evolved into the thong over the years. So, ironically, it was first worn by men in ancient times before it evolved into part of women's lingerie in modern times.

The thong, originally called a V-back, are a special type of underwear that ride high on the hips and leave the bottom almost completely exposed. They were also worn for many years by exotic Brazilian dancers during festivals. Thongs also grew in popularity during the 80s in South America and were used as swimwear at the beaches. The popularity of the thong spread to various parts of the world in the late 80s.

In the US, the thong had to gain acceptance before it gained popularity. In the early 90s R&B vocalist Sisqo and his famous "Thong Song" helped with both. Today, the thong is one of the best selling styles of undergarment in the world. The size of the lingerie industry is said to be over billion a year. The rest is history.

Because most articles of this nature are written by women, I thought it would be nice to offer a male point of view on the sex appeal of various types of panties and why men love them.

G-STRINGS

Commonly referred to as "butt floss" because they are made with the least amount of material, G-Strings are a woman's best defense against panty lines. They are virtually invisible under snug or tight fitting pants. G-Strings look best on the woman who has a rounder, more well-defined ass.

For women who lack plumpness in that area, a G-String with a triangle back will add more definition to your buttocks and make them appear rounder in the way that thongs do. Thongs are best for visually enhancing and adding definition to less defined buttocks.

MICRO G-STRINGS

This is a relatively new G-String. It has a low front panel, which makes it smaller than a G-string. While I like the concept and the visual, Micro G-Strings seem very impractical and slightly uncomfortable, but very, very erotic. Perhaps best for "situational" use.

V-STRINGS

These are a hybrid between Thongs and G-String. They have more material and cover a greater portion of the buttocks than G-Strings. They also provide greater ass definition for those who need it, but lack the comfort of G-strings.

C-STRINGS

A C-String is a type of thong that has only a thin string connecting the front piece covering the vagina. Unlike the more popular G-String, V-String, and T-String, the C-String does not contain a waist band. It is held in place by a flexible frame which "clamps" onto the body. It looks more like a space age medical device, but clearly it's easy to remove...which can have its benefits.

T-BACK THONGS OR T-STRINGS

This thong has a wide waistband going around the back. The T shape is made by the juncture of the waistband part merging into the back material of the thong. This version of the thong is perhaps the least favorite among men. It looks and feels like a belt. The material in the waist seems excessive.

BOY SHORTS

Boy shorts, also known as boy short panties, boys' cut, booty shorts, shorties, tap panties or boy-leg briefs are a sort of lingerie that goes all the way down the hips. Some stop short of the length of the hip to reveal a portion of a woman's "cheeks" for titillation. They are similar in style to male boxer shorts - but are tighter and of course, much sexier. Men like them because they are fun, flirty, and sensual. If you have nice, plump, round buttocks, boy shorts will accentuate your assets.

BIKINI BRIEFS

The classic bikini is still sexy - subtle, but sexy. They come in many variations. Bikini underwear can refer to virtually any undergarment that provides less coverage to the midsection than traditional underwear, panties or knickers. As much as men love the aforementioned panties, bikini briefs tend to outnumber most panties in a woman's undergarment supply.

INTERESTING TRENDS...THE ASS BRA?

The ass bra allegedly enhances the lift, shape and volume of the ass while also flattening the lower tummy and shaping the thigh. That's quite a lot to deliver on. My research revealed their average price to be .

How does it work? According to one website:

"Constructed of 3 high-tech layers...an inner and outer silky-soft layer made of a Nylon/Spandex blend creates a smooth seamless look under clothing. A high-compression latex middle layer provides breathable and flexible slimming of the tummy. A creative solution for those who want the illusion of slim and trim thighs, a tummy-tuck and a butt-lift without the use of padding."

BUTT CLEAVAGE PANTIES

These are Bikini-style panties with either a peephole or a lace-up in the back, so named for the "cleavage" view they create. They don't do much for men; though they seemingly provide women with more air, should they desire it.

BACKLESS PANTIES

These are...interesting panties which do away with backside fabric completely and are held up by a band underneath the buttocks. Hmm...can't see the point of them.

On the Flirty Lingerie website I read the most powerful and intelligent statement about sexy panties...which was written by a woman:

"When a woman passes a mirror she may pause to see if she is all put together. That includes her hair, makeup, teeth and so on. Never is the focus on the panties she is wearing and perhaps rightfully so. I don't advocate that a woman should check out her underwear throughout the day for obvious reasons. On the other hand...the clothes a woman wears make a statement about her sense of style, fashion sense and personality; therefore the choice of panties can, and does, make a difference in a woman's wardrobe."

I couldn't agree more.

Definition of Motivation

The definition of motivation is to give reason, incentive, enthusiasm, or interest that causes a specific action or certain behavior. Motivation is present in every life function. Simple acts such as eating are motivated by hunger. Education is motivated by desire for knowledge. Motivators can be anything from reward to coercion.

There are two main kinds of motivation: intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is internal. It occurs when people are compelled to do something out of pleasure, importance, or desire. Extrinsic motivation occurs when external factors compel the person to do something. However, there are many theories and labels that serve as sub tittles to the definition of motivation. For example: "I will give you a candy bar if you clean your room." This is an example of reward motivation.

A common place that we see the need to apply motivation, is in the work place. In the work force, we can see motivation play a key role in leadership success. A person unable to grasp motivation and apply it, will not become or stay a leader. It is critical that anyone seeking to lead or motivate understand "Howletts Hierarchy of Work Motivators."

Definition of Motivation

Salary, benefits, working conditions, supervision, policy, safety, security, affiliation, and relationships are all externally motivated needs. These are the first three levels of "Howletts Hierarchy" When these needs are achieved, the person moves up to level four and then five. However, if levels one through three are not met, the person becomes dissatisfied with their job. When satisfaction is not found, the person becomes less productive and eventually quits or is fired. Achievement, advancement, recognition, growth, responsibility, and job nature are internal motivators. These are the last two levels of "Howletts Hierarchy." They occur when the person motivates themselves (after external motivation needs are met.) An employer or leader that meets the needs on the "Howletts Hierarchy" will see motivated employees and see productivity increase. Understanding the definition of motivation, and then applying it, is one of the most prevalent challenges facing employers and supervisors. Companies often spend thousands of dollars each year hiring outside firms just to give motivation seminars.

Another place motivation plays a key role is in education. A teacher that implements motivational techniques will see an increased participation, effort, and higher grades. Part of the teachers job is to provide an environment that is motivationally charged. This environment accounts for students who lack their own internal motivation. One of the first places people begin to set goals for themselves is in school. Ask any adult: "What is the main thing that motivates you." Their answer will most likely be goals. Even the simplest things in life are the result of goal setting. A person may say, "I want to save 300.00 for a new T.V." Well, that is a goal. School is where we are most likely to learn the correlation between goals, and the definition of motivation. That correlation is what breeds success.

So, as you can see, motivation is what propels life. It plays a major role in nearly everything we do. Without motivation, we would simply not care about outcomes, means, accomplishment, education, success, failure, employment, etc.. Then, what would be the point?

How to Get Rid of Trojan Virus - 5 Easy Steps to Get Rid of Trojan Horse Virus

Before we can know how to get rid of trojan virus we need to specify exactly what it is and how it differs from a normal computer virus. A trojan horse virus is a form of malware (malicious software) that leaves your computer open to attack, and derives its name from the famous Greek legend of The Trojan Horse.

The Trojan Horse was used by the ancient Greeks to trick their way into the once impregnable city of the Trojans (Troy) and secretly send in soldiers to open the gates and allow the rest of the Greek army in to take over and conquer the city.

In the same way, computer trojan viruses disguise themselves as seemingly harmless pieces of software or desired files, but then "open the gates" to other forms of malicious software, spyware, keyloggers etc...leaving you open to anything from someone stealing your credit card information, to some basement-dwelling geek gaining remote access to your computer and files. So the trojan virus' real damage is done in its ability to compromise your computer's security and leave it open to other dangers.

How to Get Rid of Trojan Virus - 5 Easy Steps to Get Rid of Trojan Horse Virus

So while a normal computer virus is lethal in itself and can "mutate" and infect other parts of your system, the trojan allows other digital nasties in through the back door. The good news is that this makes it easier to identify and get rid of trojan virus.

How did you get the trojan virus on your computer?

As mentioned above, the trojan virus is often disguised as a normal looking file, so maybe it was an mp3 music file, a patch for a game, an online video, or even a jpeg image file. Either way, it's on your computer, so how do you get rid of trojan horse virus?

Here are the 5 things you need to do right now to get rid of trojan horse virus and avoid it returning:

1. Make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date and includes all the latest patches and virus, spyware definitions. This will be your first port of call when trying to get rid of trojan virus.

2. Run a system and registry scan to identify the evil trojan virus and then zap it into oblivion to get rid of it. Since it resides within an unimportant file you can easily delete it to get rid of trojan virus - whereas other computer viruses are more tricky to get rid of and need to be "quarantined" to stop them infecting other files on your system.

3. If you know the name of the trojan horse virus then you can check online for information on how to get rid of the trojan virus in question. Microsoft has regular updates on it's site about trojan viruses that affect Windows machines. Online forums also provide you a wealth of information about how to get rid of a trojan horse virus.

4. You could also try to get rid of the trojan virus manually. Check your Task Manager (press Ctrl +Alt +Del on Windows) to identify any programs that may be running in the background that shouldn't be - i.e. they started without your knowledge. If you see any such program, make a note of it's name, click its name to highlight it and click End Task. Open your Control Panel (click the Start menu) and use the Add/Remove programs to find the nasty blighter in question and get rid of it. Be careful with this though as you may end up wrongly deleting a file that is important to your system.

5. Overall you should take a look at your online habits and see how certain actions may compromise the security of your computer and your personal information. If you use Peer-2-Peer (P2P) file-sharing networks then take extra care on what you download, and make sure everything is run through your anti-virus / spyware scanning software first, to get rid of trojan virus that may be attempting to access your system.

How many of your personal details do you enter on your computer on a regular basis? For instance, do you bank online, or pay bills or a credit card? Perhaps you buy gifts and other purchases online? According to CNN, if you use the internet there is a 90% chance that your computer is infected with spyware. How can you be sure that your information is not being viewed by a third party right now?

How Classroom Technology Benefits Students and Their Instructors

The use of classroom technology has the benefit of making learning fun and in this way; students do not feel coaxed to learn material. The instructors also benefit for they do not have to do a lot of explaining. Examples of this technology include PowerPoint presentation, proximas, interactive DVDs, MySpace and scavenger hunts among others. In order to benefit the students, the instructor should use this technology in a manner that allows the student to actively interact with it and set goals that are achievable.

Looking at Microsoft PowerPoint as a form of classroom technology, you can see the benefits that it offers. The PowerPoint software program enables users to create presentations that may involve text or images and move them in slides. This will assist the instructor to convey information in a step by step form that is easily understood by students. The presentations allow the students to actively engage in the lesson in an enjoyable manner. Learning ideas by doing is more effective than only listening to information.

Proximas work by displaying information from a computer on a wide screen and are therefore good forms of classroom technology for instructors can use them to display PowerPoint presentations or information from websites. Using such technology also makes the students more likely to engage in meaningful discussions and this will lead to a higher understanding of lessons.

How Classroom Technology Benefits Students and Their Instructors

Instructors may be apprehensive about using classroom technology for reasons such as the time required to prepare a presentation but they should know that their time is well spent. It is far much better to teach lessons in a way that students will grasp most of the ideas than using the quick lecture method which research shows that most students retain ten percent of what they note down. An example to illustrate this is that it is far much easier to retain the information covered in the news if you watched it on television.

The other benefit offered by using technology in the classroom is that it prepares students to use the technology in the workplace. This is of advantage to society for advancements in technology mean increased development and more job opportunities. For example, by using PowerPoint presentations in class, the student gets more knowledgeable in computer use and this will assist the student when finding employment. Getting more knowledgeable in the use websites in research will enable the student to get access to lots of information that could be of assistance after school.

The use of technology in the classroom can also help the students prepare for jobs that do not exist at the time. For example a job such as webmaster came up very recently and most webmasters got the training by themselves. Some websites also offer online degrees and it is very necessary for students to know how to use technology for them to learn by correspondence. It is therefore a good thing for instructors to use technology in the classroom for the benefits of using it outweigh the costs and preparations required.

The Theory Behind SEOs

So much effort has been spent on developing SEOs and combating/ working with them that it is well worth a look at the logic and thinking behind their operation. The old phrase is re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic - are SEOs an equally pointless enterprise or are they the philosopher's stone of Internet advertising. The answer, as ever, is a little more prosaic.

The logic is straightforward enough. When you use a search engine to look for a topic, item or business you want the results to be relevant to that particular search. All too often in the mid 1990s a search for anything would return some scantily clad lady performing some athletic activity that was not subject to rules and regulations of the IOC. It is precisely because of this that search engines began a decade long confrontation with SEO people. This battle professionalized both the search engine companies and the SEO and it is all based on, simply, advertising.

For Western language speakers eye tracking research has proven that the average literate westerner will begin their scan of the page/screen at the top of the page and sweep left to right across the words - in much the same way we read. The holy grail of any advertiser was thus to ensure that their company or product was as high up the search results as possible in any western-language-orientated search engine.

The Theory Behind SEOs

Repeated listing and increased site traffic were not the be-all and end-all of marketing but were the initial volleys in the battle to gain business and for the search engine companies to retain reputation.

A company that employs a solely SEO strategy when it comes to promotion is in one of two categories:

1) A highly specialized area of business with probably very few competitors and/or unique product.

2) A highly disreputable area of business where it does not matter if the product/company's advertising methodology causes offense.

SEOs should be used in conjunction with other styles and types of advertising. This will benefit both the SEO company/individual as well as the search engine. For example, a search engine that returned virtually no results for a common search would quickly fall from the top of the tree - and lose advertising revenue as a result. I can leave the reader to imagine other scenarios involving ineffective searching or unwanted listings.

This has lead directly to the greatest advance in SEO operations: that of working closely with the search engine providers for mutual benefit. The company in the middle must be wary though. Search engines are continually altering their algorithms, indexers and schedulers to maximize good returns and minimize poor ones. This can leave the company high and dry if the search engines stops sending referrals from its searches. Indeed competent companies should spread their risk and exposure to ensure that their coverage continues should the methods change. It is fairly common for many sites that use SEOs to receive the majority of their traffic, not from search engines, but from other Internet sites.

There is also the added complication of globalisation with which to contend. Though SEOs and search engines will, in essence, use the same markets across borders, there will be vast differences in popularity of different search engines. An SEO that has cornered the market and developed strong links with western search engines might fare very badly with eastern search engines such as Baidu, for example.

It is also interesting to note how the dynamics of the Search engine/SEO have settled down from the early days of the Web. The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in the early 2000s to supply information and help for consumers and stakeholders. Such activity was unimaginable only 5 years before. The Internet is basically going mainstream in a big way as far as the average user will be concerned. The frontier spirit is fading from the large markets as consumers and producers have shifted long-standing interests and concerns on to the new technology.

What many people forget is that what the Internet does is exactly what mankind has done for thousands of years; that dynamic will never change. The margins are in doing it right and SEOs are just one strand in this holistic approach.

Commission Jackpot Review! - What Is Commission Jackpot?

Commission Jackpot is becoming a cult hit among beginner niche affiliate marketers, but what's the big deal? What kind of a WordPress junkie would I be if I didn't review the product that uses the free blogging software in it's course? A bad junkie, so here's my full review of Commission Jackpot.

Perhaps the attraction to the course stems from the way the material is taught. The course is based on live examples throughout the course. You don't just learn how to do something, the next logical step is taken, and you are shown what to do in a video.

Created with Camtasia screen capture software, Jeff Carson, the creator, takes the watcher on a journey from the very beginning to end; setting up the affiliate campaign, to making sales.

Commission Jackpot Review! - What Is Commission Jackpot?

So What's the Big Deal About Commission Jackpot?

Well, it really is rare in the internet marketing world to get a course that discloses actual niches and shows actual campaigns that the teacher is doing, as is the case with Commission Jackpot. You don't just learn concepts, you watch them in action with actual examples, which is very refreshing.

So What Will I Learn In This Program?

After purchasing the product, I was directed to 3 pieces of written material and 20 videos that cover, and show in action, the concepts of...

How to set up an affiliate account/getting your first links. How to avoid Search Engine Optimization pitfalls. How to choose Niches that have the most potential for success. How to choose the Keywords that bring you traffic with the least effort. How to create a money making campaign quickly without a website. How to create your own professional looking websites with free software you may already have (Wordpress) and create an affiliate income site. How to generate traffic without spending money on PPC. How to become proficient with Article Marketing - and how to create large amounts of traffic to your articles. Plus more...

You can see that Commission Jackpot does cover quite a lot of material. I personally found the part about WordPress very informative if you don't have any experience with it. You'd be surprised how professional looking of a website you can make with a WordPress blog. If you bought the course for this section alone, it would be worth the money saved on hiring out professional web designers to do your development for you.

I recommend Commission Jackpot to any person wanting to learn how to make money online in a simple, repeatable way, with potential to earn you an extra pay check in the next month.

A 12 Step Recovery Program For Your Marketing Strategy

Step 1: Accept the fact that a solid, well-executed marketing strategy is a necessity, not a luxury. Contrary to logic, the marketing budget is often the first victim of cutting expenses. However, marketing keeps you in front of your customers. Continuing with your marketing efforts will pay off while your competition seems to "fall off the face of the Earth."

Step 2: Admit that marketing campaigns that worked a year ago may no longer net results. Consumers' priorities have changed and you need to be aware of where your product or service stands in relation to their needs and wants. Adjust your strategy accordingly.

Step 3: Be willing to make amends for the mistakes of others. The mortgage fiasco started this whole thing and the effects trickled into every aspect of life. Consumer confidence as a whole is down. Send messages that instill trust in your business.

A 12 Step Recovery Program For Your Marketing Strategy

Step 4: Realize that now is the opportune time to reposition your business. A collective tightening of the belt has drawn a distinctive line between needs and wants. If necessary, reposition your product or service from a want to a need.

Step 5: Consciously improve your contact with customers. Meet your customers where they are and connect with them there. Regardless of the cost or the time involved to reach out to them, do it, even if it means embarking on a new strategy like variable print direct mail or engaging in social media venues.

Step 6: Remove any barriers from the buying process. Enlist the help of objective people to play the role of your customer. After they make a trial run through your Web site or phone ordering service, fix any glitches they found in ordering process.

Step 7: Address consumer concerns. Make a list of frequently asked questions and answer them on your Web site's FAQ section. If you don't have one, add one. Analyze your site statistics and beef up the pages where customers leave. Addressing customer concerns goes a long way to building trust and neutralizing skepticism.

Step 8: Believe in the power of the written word. The written word lies at the core of any solid marketing strategy- online or offline. Keep your messages consistent and relevant to your target audience because not only are they cautious with their money today, they are protective of their time.

Step 9: Commit to quality in every piece of your marketing communications. Even if it is only a Twitter post, ensure every word is spelled correctly and every sentence is grammatically accurate. The smallest errors reflect poorly on your business and today many people are far less forgiving of mistakes than they used to be.

Step 10: Be willing to let go of the marketing efforts that do not work. Mistakes are inevitable. The challenge is to know when to cut those marketing mistakes loose. For example, the New Coke, which spent 2 years and millions of dollars in the development stage, lasted a mere 79 days on the market before Coca-Cola reverted back to its original formula.

Step 11: Embrace new marketing ideas. Marketing is not a one size fits all concept. Be open to new ideas and how they can complement your current strategy. There are so many new options today that are affordable and easy to implement.

Step 12: Have the courage to do the things you can, accept the things you can't and have the wisdom to know the difference. If creating or executing your marketing strategy isn't your forte, accept the fact and contract someone who can help. It will free up your time to focus on doing the things you do best and ensure your marketing strategy is as effective as possible.

Influence of Slavery on Political and Economic Development in the United States From 1619-1865

The institution of slavery has played an important role in history of the United States until the abolishment of slavery in 1865. Slaves were common in both Southern and Northern states from the arrival of first African slaves in 1619 throughout the colonial era as well as much of the 19th century. With an aim to win the Southern states, the United States Constitution of 1788 recognized the institution of slavery by allowing each state to regulate slavery within its borders.

Despite the fact that slaves were found in both Southern and Northern states, slaves never exceeded more than 5% of total population in the North. In the South, on the other hand, slaves have reached 10% of total population by 1680 and the number of slaves continued to rise even after the Northern states started to abolish slavery at the beginning of the 19th century. Why slavery in the North was never as widespread as in the South is not fully understood but the increased demand for cotton in Europe and invention of the cotton gin at the end of the 18th century undoubtedly greatly influenced the demand for slaves in Southern states. The cotton gin enabled production of larger quantities of cotton which in turn required a larger labor force - slaves. By 1860, slaves have exceeded 30% of total population in the South.

The South's economic growth in the 18th and 19th century was on the level of other wealthy countries but the slave states remained rural and could not compare with industrialized North which also had a higher rate of population growth due to European immigrants. The birth rate in the South was comparable to that in the North but the South had fewer cities and industry which is why the vast majority of European immigrants settled in the North rather than in South. This has resulted in gradual loss of Southern influence in the federal government and subsequently the tool to implement its interests.

Influence of Slavery on Political and Economic Development in the United States From 1619-1865

The frustration of the South over losing control in federal institutions, and emergence of abolitionist movement and fear from the "Slave Power Conspiracy" in the North has caused serious political tensions among the free states and slave states that resulted in the collapse of the old Second Party System and the American Civil War. However, slavery issue was not only the root cause of the American Civil War but also played a major role in the outcome of the bloodiest war on the American soil. It was the institution of slavery that prevented the South to industrialize as quickly as the North which has turned out to be one of the main reasons for the South's defeat, especially when it become clear that "King Corn" is more important to European powers than "King Cotton".

Art is something that all should have the chance to enjoy, in one form or another. In some ways, art can be very expensive. For those who have to travel a long way to see the famous art nearest to them, or for others who simply cannot afford the equipment to try art as a hobby, it can seem an elitist pastime. This article brings some of the best free art available online to help more to enjoy this amazing, creative hobby which can be studied or pursued. Every country is full of amateur artists looking to sell their latest creations or simply find a way to continue their art education. Many resources are also available online to help this happen, for free. The internet is an amazing way of exchanging information, views and ideas on any topic, and art is well catered for here with a huge amount of free art downloads available.

The most obvious availability is free photos and articles of famous artists and paintings. Many sites have photos that can be used as wallpapers for your computer desktop and the articles are great for learning and studying about art, which remains popular today. Art education is essential to amateur artists who need to understand how art has developed before they can improve their own painting methods. There are also many sites with free art videos which are great for budding artists to learn visually about new painting techniques. Videos have a great advantage over books when it comes to demonstrating manual techniques.

Web Site Development - The Roles of Web Designers and Web Programmers

A web site is a software package. By definition, a package is a ready-made program that is available to users for use to perform some tasks. These users include non-IT professionals. Thus, a web site qualifies to be a package like Microsoft Office, Peachtree Accounting packages.

Before the revolution of The Web (WWW), development of software package was the exclusive preserve of skillful programmers. Programmers or software developers develop the logic of programs which a package will eventually use to function. This logic building aspect of software development requires high level of intellect. This together with the intricacies of mastering programming languages made the development of packages uninteresting and unattractive to a large spectrum of people.

Web Development

Following the revolution of The Web, it became possible for non-programmers to develop packages right from the inception. These are web-based packages and of course, web sites, requiring no programming skills. The result was the creation of a new type of profession called Web Design. A web designer is someone who organizes a web page by arranging texts, pictures, animations, forms etc on a page and formats them to produce good presentation. All he needs do is to make use of any of the appropriate web development tools like Macromedia Visual Studio and Microsoft FrontPage. Through the Design section of Macromedia Dreamweaver, for example, you can design a whole web page without using HTML codes. What you have is a web site. A web site is one or more web pages. These web development tools are the equivalent of what the popular package Adobe PageMaker does which is to organize and format pages of books, magazines, newspapers etc. No programming is required.

Web Site Development - The Roles of Web Designers and Web Programmers

The limitation of web designing is the creation of static web sites which may be suitable for some applications but not all. They produce non-interactive and non-dynamic web sites that are unsuitable for certain applications and needs. For example, online registration. The role of a web designer stops at this point and that of a web programmer begins. As a result of the limitation of static web sites, the need to move further arose. People wanted sites where they could post forms for tasks like creating accounts online and authentication of passwords. This led to the development of web programming languages otherwise known as scripts. Examples are JavaScript, ASP, ASP.NET, JSP, PHP, ColdFusion etc. The result was the creation of the profession of web programming. A web programmer is someone who develops programs for the purpose of performing automated tasks on a web site. Some prefer to call them software developers. Example of such tasks are:

Data validation. Form submission. Sign Up. Database search.

Thus, it became possible to develop dynamic and interactive web sites capable of doing what conventional software could do on stand-alone computer and network using non-internet technologies. Online banking, stock broking are examples. These functions can now be carried out entirely on internet. To develop functional scripts for such automated tasks, logic building and mastery of the programming language to use in terms of syntax are required. Most of the programs are written from scratch.

Can you be a web designer and a web programmer? Yes, you can. There are people who double as web designer and web programmer but specialists are noted for doing better in their respective fields of specialization than non-specialists. Some sites do not require more than web designing but many sites nowadays require both web designing and web programming like the multi-tier applications that have presentation layer, the logic layer that interfaces the presentation layer with the database, and the data layer that contains the database. There are even database specialists who design database and write what is called stored procedures and triggers right inside the database. The use of stored procedures increases the overall efficiency of site execution as it minimizes the number of times SQL statements are parsed, compiled, and optimized during execution. You can see that site development is quite deep.

The roles of web designers and web programmers are complementary in the development of web site. You need to identify where your ability lies and allow that to inform your choice of area of specialization. If you know you have the ability to write programs, you can go beyond web designing and become a web programmer but if it is otherwise, stick to web designing and continue to grow and sharpen your skills. The truth of the matter is that programming is not for everybody.

If you are a conventional graphic artist, you will find it easy to crossover to web designing and if you are a conventional programmer, you can readily crossover to web programming. What I mean by conventional graphic artists are those who have the expertise in the use of tools like CorelDraw, Photoshop, and PageMaker to perform Desktop Publishing tasks. By conventional programmers, I mean the experts in programming languages like C++, FoxPro, COBOL, and Dbase.

As long as you can determine where your ability lies, you will surely overcome frustrations in your tasks of developing web sites and you will continue to enjoy what you are doing. If you are a web designer and you have a job that involves programming which you cannot handle, look for assistance from a web programmer. If you are a web programmer and you are having issues with web designing in your task, seek the assistance of a web designer. If you can handle both areas to a very large extent, well and good.

Tracking Success With A Goal Tracking Chart

Creating a goal tracking chart is as simple as drawing a basic grid or table. Create as many vertical columns as you have goals to include, and include a horizontal row for every sub-goal or milestone you wish to divide your goals into, plus one row on top for your "Finish By" date and one row below for your goal heading or title. [Hint: Creating a goal tracking chart poster-sized on inexpensive and brightly colored poster board ensures visibility and accountability!]
Complete and use your chart according to the instructions below:
1. Place the name of one goal, or a major section of a larger project goal, in the row of boxes at the bottom of the chart.
2. In the row of boxes at the top of each chart, in the appropriate column above each goal or goal section, place the deadline for that goal, if applicable.
3. Break down each goal or goal section into individual steps that make sense for each one (pound loss intervals for a weight loss goal, steps for completing and sending off a college application, action steps that make up a project phase, etc). Fill in the boxes in each column between the goal title and the finish date with stages involved in meeting that goal, starting with the first step in the lower-most square, just above the goal heading or title, and working your way up to the deadline. Use as many or as few boxes as you need.
4. Cross out, color in or place a sticker, etc., in each goal-step box as you complete that step. By placing several related goals on one chart, you can track whether or not one goal is getting the lion's share of your attention, and you can eliminate worry over forgetting about less vital, but still important, goals in the flurry of day-to-day life.
Large projects can easily be managed using the goal tracking chart by grouping all of the goals specific to each phase of the project together on separate charts. This way, you can ensure that all project goals are met in a timely manner, and the project as a whole is completed smoothly and efficiently, with no forgotten stepping-stones or bottlenecks.

Unblock Sites At School

How many times you have been at school or work and wanted to browse your favourite sites, but guess what, they were blocked! Happened a lot to me, or at least until I heard of web proxies. They are web sites that let you unblock sites by your administrator.

How is that possible?

Home School Curriculum

Basically they retrieve the page you want to surf and display it for you.So, you connect to the web proxy, and it connects to the blocked site. It's like a person in the middle.

Unblock Sites At School

For what are they used else?

Web proxies, besides unblocking unblock sites, p.s myspace unblock, they are used to protect your privacy. That means that you dont show your IP to the sites you connect, but show the proxies IP.

How can I find them?

Just make a google search for terms like proxy or unblock sites and you will get thousands of working proxies. It' just that easy ;) .

What if you don't like proxies?

While proxy servers are extremely popular in helping to get past firewalls there are still other sneaky ways in which you can get on MySpace at school as well. For example, you could use Google to load the cached version of the site. This works because the cached version of the site is usually filter free. To do this you will need to go to Google first, type in MySpace and then go to the first link, but make sure you click on cached not the actual URL link.

Another way would be to try changing the prefix of the site name. For example, instead of typing in http://www.myspace.com you would type in "http://home.myspace.com" Of course, you can use other prefixes besides home, such as invite, search, mail, blog, favorites, groups, forum, events, music, signup, chat, etc. Just make sure you put the dot (.) before the rest of the URL.

You might also try using a language translator page in order to translate the site from another language into English. There are several sites that offer this type of service including Google Language Tools, FreeTranslation, and Babel Fish Translation.

If you are a bit more technically minded another method would be to install a circumventor. A circumventor program can be used to sneak past all kinds of web blocking programs. Be aware that you won't actually be installing the program on the computer from which the firewall is blocking the site you want to see. Instead, the program is installed on a different machine, one that is not blocked. So, for example, you wouldn't install the circumventor on the computer at school; it would be installed on a computer at home. After the circumventor program has been installed it will provide you with URL for the new circumventor, you take that with you and use that URL to sneak past the firewall or other type of web blocking device.

It is important to know that whatever computer you install the circumventor on must have a fast Internet connect, not dial-up. It should also be running either Windows XP or 2000. In addition, the computer must be turned on and hooked up to the Internet in order for the circumventor to work. Peacefire offers information where to download circumventor programs.
